Bare rental is the opposite of furnished rental. Better known to the general public, bare rental involves a standard residential lease (with a minimum term of 3 years) and requires the lessor to provide an apartment that meets decency criteria.

This system is often used for larger properties, but also for those that have required major renovation work, which can then be deducted from taxable income, and may seem simpler than the furnished rental system.

However, depending on the situation, it may not offer the same tax advantages as furnished accommodation.
